What are MBR and GPT? The Master Boot Record (MBR) and the GUID Partition Table (GUID Partition Table) are two distinct methods of storing partitioning information on a hard drive.

This information contains where partitions begin and stop on the hard disk, allowing your operating system to determine which sectors belong to which partition and which partition is bootable.

  1. Launch Device Manager.

  1. Right-click on the SSD MBR disk you’d like to convert. Then select Convert to GPT Disk.
  2. After that, press OK.
  3. Click the Apply button on the toolbar to save your changes.

Way 02: Convert Using Windows Interface

  1. Back up or transfer the data on the basic MBR disc that you want to convert to a GPT disc.
  2. If there are any partitions or volumes on the disc, right-click each one and select Delete Partition or Delete Volume.
  3. Right-click the MBR disc you wish to convert to a GPT disc and select Convert to GPT Disk from the menu that appears.
